Deerhoof at Celebrate Brooklyn, 2008
Sure, we already celebrate Brooklyn on a daily basis – living, working and playing here – but we’re also proud sponsors again this year of what is one of our favorite warm weather pastimes, the Celebrate Brooklyn concert series around the corner from us in Prospect Park which kicked off its 2010 season yesterday. See you there!

Celebrate Brooklyn
This past snowy season I entered as Invitation Consultant at Lion In The Sun Brooklyn, back into the paper world after a few years away. A paper nerd at heart! Alongside my love for paper is my passion for photography. A graduate of Columbia College Chicago, my work has expanded on fine art, portrait, travel and wedding photography.
Over the last couple of years, I have been fortunate enough to photograph some beautiful Brooklyn weddings. Last summer I shot Mikayla & Oliver’s wedding at The Boathouse in Prospect Park, which ended up being featured on essence.com! Take a peek at Mikayla’s beautiful late summer wedding…with her palette of deep purples and greens.

The North Fork of Long Island is so down to earth, retaining a quaint colonial feel and sprinkled with many working farms and beautiful beach scenery without the crowds and pretension of the Hamptons. It is one of New York’s truly unadulterated, charming historic towns. For New Yorkers it is the perfect place to gather guests from near and far for a spectacular and warm wedding weekend.
There are wonderful vineyards with extraordinary wines and best of all many of them have beautiful settings to host a great wedding weekend and they range from Tuscan inspired, with lush fields for miles, to homey wooden farmhouses with wildflowers and age old oak trees.
The focus is wine and home grown food and there are fine restaurants galore. Some of our faves were Shinn Estate Vineyards, Macari Vineyards and Bedell Cellars which has a magnificent open atrium with a breathtaking view. Our trip was inspired by a dear friend’s wedding last summer so we thought it would be a great opportunity to share some pictures of their perfect day at Bedell Cellars.
