Could we be more excited about the much anticipated 2013 wedding invitation trends? Here’s a quick look at what we’re expecting to see this year …
Greens: When Pantone announced emerald green as the color of the year, we certainly expected to see brides gravitating towards the hue as they perused invites. But as it turns out, the announcement sparked an interest in the whole green family, from mint to kelly and beyond.
Art-Deco: Like a page out of The Great Gatsby, brides and grooms will be doing it up art-deco style this year. We’re expecting to see lace and feather details on invites, elegant muted color palettes made up of navys and nudes, and geometric borders.
Foil Stamping: With brides channeling their inner-flappers and weddings moving towards updated formality, foil is having a serious moment. Glints of metallic gold, rose gold, silver, and bronze will be highlighting names, calligraphy, and detailed motifs.
Customized & Creative: As weddings get more and more personal from one year to the next, couples are looking for invites that paint a picture of who they are (literally and figuratively). Monograms and photos add a touch of customization, while custom artwork — maps, portraits, storylines, and more — make an invite all your own.
Love the last one, it’s so whimsical.
