Brooklyn, NY, February 2019 – Renowned Brooklyn stationer Lion in the Sun has a new name and a new look for 2019. The Park Slope institution has now become Bella Figura Brooklyn. The newly remodeled space at 232 Seventh Avenue will host a Grand Opening on February 16, 2019, during which Bella Figura will launch a new Brooklyn-specific wedding invitation collection and begin a two-week promotion for free wedding invitations. This is the second location for Bella Figura in New York City, complementing an Upper East Side store that opened in 2015.

Lion in the Sun has been a destination for stationery at the corner of Seventh Avenue and Fourth Street since 2002, and now has four times more space devoted to custom printing.  The store no longer sells gifts and greeting cards, but instead focuses on custom printing for weddings, holidays, baby announcements, Bar Mitzvahs, Bat Mitzvahs, and events. Lion in the Sun founder Melinda Morris remains at the store and now oversees both Bella Figura locations in New York City. “Bella Figura Brooklyn,” she says, “continues the tradition of the local personalized service of your neighborhood stationer. We give you 1-on-1 expert attention and creative direction for any event printing you can dream up.”

For years, Bella Figura has been a primary supplier of custom printing for Lion in the Sun. Their award-winning designs feature innovative combinations of letterpress, foil stamping, engraving, and digital printing. “We’ve always looked to Brooklyn for design inspiration,” says founder Harold Kyle. For the Grand Opening, Bella Figura will premiere its Brooklyn Collection wedding album, featuring designs suited for local venues like the Green Building and the Weylin. “More than ever, we’ve tailored our designs to suit this neighborhood and its creative energy,” Kyle says.

To celebrate the rebranding, Bella Figura will host a Grand Opening on February 16, 2019. The Grand Opening also kicks off a two-week promotion for 25 free invitation sets when ordering more than 75 sets. An open house runs from 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., with a reception from 4:30 P.M. to 7 P.M. The public is invited to come to see the new store layout and the new designs made by Bella Figura specifically for Brooklyn. The reception will also feature work of other wedding vendors: snacks and sweet treats by Naturally Delicious and Woops, florals by Rebecca Shepherd Floral Design, display and discussion with Karen Wise Photography,  hand calligraphy demonstrations and personalization by tuccicursive, nail art station by MiGak Salon, and dresses by Shone Bride.
